We're over capacity right now
We're not taking on new clients at the moment. You're welcome to join the waiting list — there's no promise on timing, and nothing you'll need to send us.
If your job is urgent, please don't wait on us. Worth checking before you hire anyone: recent reviews that describe the actual work, a clear rate agreed before anyone starts, and WCB coverage — it's what covers you if someone is hurt on your property.
Already a client? Nothing changes — just reply on your usual email thread.
About Handyman Reality
18 years of Edmonton repairs, one person, and a reputation built entirely on turning up and doing the job properly. Here is the honest version of where it stands.
My name is Don Moody. I've been a residential handyman in Edmonton since the beginning of 2008. Before that I was a third-year plumbing apprentice, mostly in new-construction residential; before that I ran my own cellphone-repair business, and before that an appliance delivery and installation business.
Here's the honest update. I broke my ankle. It hasn't bounced back the way I'd like — I'm still on a cane — and it's moving me off the tools sooner than I planned.
So I'm building what keeps Handyman Reality going: a small crew of handy people I personally vet, every one held to the standard you've come to expect from me. I won't be the one under every sink much longer — and that's exactly why I'm building this now, while I can still set the bar on every job.
I'm not abandoning anyone who came before. If you've relied on Handyman Reality, you still can. The difference is you'll have more than just my two hands behind it.
Same reliability. Same time-plus-materials, no-games way of working. Same guy picking up — building something that outlasts a bad ankle.

What came before the tools
The range of work Handyman Reality takes on is not an accident — it comes from three trades that came before it.
Third-year plumbing apprentice
Mostly new-construction residential. It is why plumbing, drains and fixtures are the strongest part of what we do rather than something we subcontract out.
Cellphone repair, his own business
Small, fiddly, diagnostic work under a magnifier. Good training for finding the actual fault rather than replacing the obvious part.
Smooth Moves Transport
His own appliance delivery and installation business — where the appliance side comes from, and the habit of protecting floors and doorframes on the way in.
How the business actually runs
Almost all of it by email, on purpose. Terms and rates go out in writing before anything is booked, so nobody is relying on what they think they remember from a phone call.
Time plus materials, never a fixed quote. Two hours minimum. A 30-day warranty on the workmanship. It has been the same arrangement for over a decade because it is the one that stays fair when a job turns out to be different from what it looked like.

Where it goes next
A small crew, vetted personally, held to the standard those reviews were earned on. If you have relied on Handyman Reality before, you still can — there will just be more than one pair of hands behind it.
