We're over capacity right now
We're not taking on new clients at the moment. You're welcome to join the waiting list — there's no promise on timing, and nothing you'll need to send us.
If your job is urgent, please don't wait on us. Worth checking before you hire anyone: recent reviews that describe the actual work, a clear rate agreed before anyone starts, and WCB coverage — it's what covers you if someone is hurt on your property.
Already a client? Nothing changes — just reply on your usual email thread.
How it works
No account to make, no quote to chase and no surprise on the invoice. Here is the whole process, in the order it happens.
The process, step by step
You tell us what needs doing
Through the form, or by email. What the job is, the service address, and how to reach you. Photos help, and so does saying when someone can give access.
We send you our terms in writing
Before anything is booked you get how we work and our rates by email. There is no fixed quote — the pricing page explains why — but you will never be guessing about the rate.
We agree a visit
Once you know the terms and we understand the job, we settle on a time. If something changes at our end, you hear it from us rather than finding out by waiting in.
The work gets done
Almost always in one visit: we look at the list, pick up whatever the job needs and come straight back to finish it. If it turns out to be bigger than it looked, or belongs to a licensed specialist, you get told at that point rather than afterwards.
You are billed for what it took
Time plus materials, invoiced — the hours actually worked and the parts actually used. Our workmanship then carries a 30-day warranty.
Who actually turns up
Today, Don — the same person who built the reputation and answers the email. Handyman Reality does not have a crew yet; a founding one is being formed, and nobody works under this name until Don has vetted them personally.
Straight answers
How does pricing work?
Strictly time plus materials — no fixed quotes. Tell us what's going on by email and you'll get a straight read of how we'd approach it. Billed time includes the supplier runs your job needs. Are you insured — as a business, not just the truck?
Yes. Handyman Reality is insured for the business. Certificate available on request.Do you warranty your work?
30 days on the work. What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're closed most weekends and statutory holidays. Real emergencies — send the form and say so.What if it's an emergency?
Send the form and say it's urgent — we'll do our best to get to you as fast as we can if we're free. How do I book a service call?
Use the form on this page, or email us directly with the location and what needs doing. We read email early morning and end of day, and we reply once we can see a clear path to a reliable appointment. How do I know if I need a handyman or a specialist?
Ask us. As a rule: if the work means moving what's inside the wall, floor or ceiling, a development permit may be required and it's usually journeyman work rather than ours. We'll tell you that up front.Do you do commercial work too?
Yes — residential and commercial both. Most of the last 18 years has been residential, but commercial kitchens and washrooms are well within scope. What kinds of jobs do you take?
Kitchen and bathroom repairs, toilets and faucets, sinks and outside taps, plumbing repairs, door lock changes and SmartKey resets, lights, switches and receptacles, wall repairs with or without paint, furniture assembly, appliance repairs — just try me and I'll be honest as to my thoughts. A touch autistic, lol. What payment do you take?
Cash and Interac e-transfer. We do have PayPal for clients who really need to put it on a credit card. What areas do you serve?
Edmonton and the surrounding communities. We used to range further into East Central Alberta; we're focused on Edmonton now, and the area widens again as the crew grows.
