Terms of Service

Last updated: August 12, 2026

These terms describe how we already work — how a job is arranged, how it is charged, and what the warranty covers. They are written to be read, not to be survived. We review them periodically.

Who these terms are with

Handyman Reality is operated by 2282533 Alberta Corp. When you book work with us, your agreement is with Handyman Reality — we are the party responsible for the work and for the warranty on it, whoever from our side carries it out. Any question about these terms goes to kewlguy@handymanreality.com.

What we do

Home and commercial repairs in Edmonton and the surrounding communities, in business since 2008 — plumbing, electrical, drywall, drain cleaning, appliance repairs, painting and furniture assembly. If a job is outside what we do well, we say so rather than take it on.

Requesting work

Requests come through the form on this site and we reply by email. A request you submit is not yet a booking — it becomes one when we confirm it with you. When we are at capacity we may pause new requests and offer a place on a waiting list instead; when that happens this site says so plainly rather than quietly taking requests we cannot serve.

Rescheduling and cancelling

Plans change — tell us as early as you can and we will move the booking. What helps is not leaving it to the morning of when you already knew the day before: a slot that opens up at short notice is one we cannot offer to anyone else.

Getting to the work

To do a job we need to reach it: someone to let us in or arrangements made in advance, a clear path to the work area, pets secured, and somewhere to park. If we arrive and cannot start, we will get in touch with you before doing anything else rather than making the call for you.

How we charge

Time plus materials — not a fixed quote. We tell you what we expect a job to take before starting it, and if the scope turns out to be different we talk to you before carrying on rather than after. You will not receive a bill for work you did not agree to.

Payment

Cash and Interac e-transfer. We do have PayPal for clients who really need to put it on a credit card.

Our 30-day warranty

We warrant our workmanship for 30 days from the day a job is completed. If something we did is not right, tell us and we will come back and put it right. Telling us early costs you nothing and is always the fastest route. The warranty covers our workmanship: it does not cover parts and appliances themselves, which carry whatever warranty their manufacturer offers and which we will point you to, nor faults that were already there and that the job was not meant to fix.

Insurance

We carry liability insurance, and a certificate is available on request — just ask and we will send it.

Where our responsibility sits

If our work is not right we put it right — that is the warranty above, and it is the first and fastest route for both of us. If we damage something in the course of a job, tell us straight away and we will deal with it, through our insurer where it comes to that. What we cannot take responsibility for is a fault that was already there and that we were not hired to fix, or knock-on losses we had no reasonable way to see coming. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Alberta consumer law.

Your information

What we collect through the forms on this site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it are all set out in our Privacy Notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.

Changes to these terms

These are interim terms: they describe how we already work, and they will be reviewed by a lawyer and expanded as the business grows. We update this page as things change, and the date above always shows the current version.
